Last Sundays open match on the Rochdale canal was fished by 40 anglers in fine conditions ( until the weigh-in ). Sections fished were Derdale Sandholme, gasworks, Woodhouse, Finneys. Generally it was big fish or not much, since the bits didn`t seem to want bait.

Tuesday open matches start on 8th May and run through to 17th July, plus a grand final on 24th July. Ring 01706 290642. Each match is for individuals and is open to non-members with peg fees at 50p for members and £1.50 for non-members. Total entry fee for each match is therefore £7 member £8 non-member. Includes pool of £4.50 and £1 towardspayout for final and £1 for bonus ball.

Junior coaching is currently taking place on Sundays on the canal. Meet at Salford Ind Est by canal at 1:00pm fish to 4:00pm. Ring Dennis Dolan for further info on 01706 817232. There will be no tutoring on Sunday 6th May 2001. Our N.F.A. coach will be attending the N.F.A. annual conference.

Fish deliveries should now be completewith the final delivery to Cliviger Fish Ponds. Waters stocked were as follows Croft Head, Grove Lodge,Walsden Printing Co Lodges, New Mill Dam, Portsmouth Res, Cliviger Fishponds, Queen St Mill, plus two sections of the canal, (Sandersons and White House).

We have a night match on Friday 15th June draw on site upto 8:30 pm fish 9:00pm to 6:00am £5all in.

Last weeks open match was fished by 20 anglers on lorry park and wooden bridge sections of the Rochdale canal at Smithy Bridge, Littleborough. Weights were not particulary good ( no Tench or big Perch were caught), but the top 15 anglers all had over 1kg of fish ( mainly punch caught roach)

Fish stocks have been increased at Croft Head, Grove Lodge, Walsden Print Co, New Mill Dam, Cliviger Fishponds, Queen St Mill, Portsmouth Res and Sandersons/White House sections of the canal. A good varied selection of fish were introduced to the various waters including Carp, Crucian Carp, Tench, Bream, Gudgeon, Ide, and Chub.

This coming Sunday 8th April we have an open match on the canal at Littleborough ( Smithy Bridge ). Draw up to 8:30 am , fish 10:00am to 3:00 pm. £12 'all in'. Ring Richard on 01706 290642 to book on. Two more matches are planned ( on the Todmorden sections) on Sundays 15th and 29th April.

Junior coaching has now commenced each Sunday on the Library length, meet Salford Industrial Estate at 1:00 pm fish till 4:00pm ring Dennis ( N.F.A. qualified coach) on 01706 817232 for more details.
Junior matches start on 2nd June.

Tuesday evening matches start on 8th May and run through until 17th July plus a grand final on 24th July. All these matches are open to non-member for this year but pegging fees are as follows:
