Last Sunday`s open match on the Rochdale canal was fished on Gasworks, Sandholme, and derdale by 27 anglers in good weather( dry cool calm).

Tuesday evening matches start on 14th May and run through to 27th August (Grand Final, top two from each match). £7 all in. Members only.

Juniors wishing to take part in tutoring sessions, ring Dennis on 01706 817232. Junior matches start on 1st June, and go on until 21st September, see membership card for more details.

T.A.S. waters have now started to fish quite well in the warmer weather - Carp and Tench starting to show well, plus Roach, Ide, Perch, Gudgoen, and a few Orfe.

Day tickets are available for Cliviger fish ponds, Croft Head and Grove Lodge, but must be bought in advance of fishing otherwise double will be charged on the bank. £3 senior £1.50 junior. From local tackle shops, or Monarch garage Cliviger, or Roundhouse newsagents Littleborough.
Day ticket anglers may not use keepnets and may only use one rod.

Members fishing Queen St Mill are also not allowed to use keepnets due to the danger of positioning nets.

Membership is still open local tackle shops @ £36 senior (inc £10 joining fee)  or £5 for juniors (under 16), or £13 lady, O.A.P. or limbless/wheelchair disabled.

last Sundays open match was fished on Summit sections of the Rochdale canal by 29 anglers, most used long pole with hemp/caster combination to tempt various weights and sizes of Chub.

The stocks of Tench have now arrived with good quanties introduced into the Rochdale canal ( Library Length), New Mill Dam, And Cliviger Fishponds. Golden Rudd have also been stocked into Queen St Mill.

Members are reminded that they must carry  their valid 2002 membership cards when fishing ant of our waters.

Day tickets @ £3 per day are available in advance for Cliviger Fishponds, Grove Lodge, and Croft Head Fishery, but anybody check who is found fishing without will be charged double on the bank. Poachers WILL be prosecuted this year especially.

Last weeks open match was fished on the Rochdale canal at Smithy Bridge (lorry park and Swing bridge) by 30 entrants. Weights were quite good considering the change in the weather. (Warm and sunny to cloudy cool and windy). The winner had two Tench plus Roach and Perch from peg 60 on Swing bridge, with the runner-up catching all Roach.

There is an open match this coming Sunday 14th April on the Derdale - Sewage sections on the Rochdale canal. Draw upto 8:30 fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. £12 all in. Ring Richard on 01706 290642 or Frank on 01706 650954 to book on.
Tuesday evening matches run from 14th May through to 27th August, and are for individuals - members only.

Junior matches are on Saturday afternoons from 1st June or Wednesday evenings from 19th June. £1 per match members only. For further details see members ticket.

Membership is still open for the 2002 calendar year (expiring on 31 - 12 - 2002) at £36 senior (inc. one off £10 entry fee) or £5 juniors birth to 16th birthday or £13 ladies O.A.P (over 65) or wheelchair and/or limbless disabled. Join at any of our tackle shop outlets in Burnley (Macks and Cockers), Todmorden (Post Office Halifax road), Littleborough (AA supplies), Sowerby Bridge ( Fish a' Mania), Rochdale (Rochdale Angling and Kay's Tackle), Oldam (Shedding Angling), or Shaw (Tight Lines).

Day tickets are avaliable from most of the above outlets (in advance of fishing only) and also from the Roundhouse (News agents) Littleborough or Monarch Garage, Walk Mill, Cliviger - only Croft Lodge, Cliviger Fishponds and Grove Lodge may be fished on a day ticket.  £3 senior or £1.50 junior double on bank.

Waters avaliable to members:-

Rochdale Canal (Callis - Castelton), Grove Lodge, Whiteley Knowl res, Croft Lodge, New Mill Dam, Queen St. Mill, Cliviger Fishponds, Portsmouth Res, Walsden Printing Co. lodge, River Calder in Todmorden. No groundbaiting with boilies no keepnets at Queen St. Mill, only one rod at once (day tickets) two rods (members). No keep nets allowed at all for day ticket holders. All fish to be returned to the water. No litter. Environment agency rod licence compulsory for over 11 years of age - new licence must be bought to commence 1/4/02. No rod licence required if child is under 12 years old.

The Tench & Golden Rudd will be delivered on 11th April by our supplier. The first working party at cliviger to remove weeds was a very poorly attended event (only two of us turned up). - it seems a shame to have to pay for somebody to do this work when we have so many members.
