The committee has decided to offer a new 5 year membership from 2004 to 2008 inc at a cost of £150. If you are interested in this new 5 year offer then please let the ticket secretary have your cheque before the end on 2003. This offer 'inflation proofs' you for the next 5 years.
You will notice Lower Town House has been deleted from our waters available, this is only until it is re-commissioned, problably sometime during 2004, we still have it , but improvments are necessary, and our members will reap the benifts of a better fishery.
Next open match is at Smithy Bridge, Littleborough on Sunday 27th April, draw up to 8:30. Fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. £12 all in. Ring 01706 290642 or 01706 650954 to book on.
The senior club championship starts on Sunday 4th May at Cliviger Top Pond. Draw up to 8:00 am fish 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. This is a revamped Sunday Championship with the overall winner of the series being awarded a trophy and £60, and the runner a tankardand £40. Ring 01707 872812 for more details.
Tuesday evening matches start on 17th June.
Junior matches start Saturday 17th May.
A further large injection of fish is on order Tench 6" - 8" and Carp 4" - 6" of the F1 variety, which is a cross between Common and Crucian.
The last Sunday open match was fished by 21 anglers on the Summit section of the Rochdale canal. The weather was fine and sunny, but the fish were not very active, and the weights were low.

Junior coacing sessions on the Rochdale canal in the centre of Todmorden have now started. They take place on Sundays on the Library Length, Ring Dennis Dolan on 01706 817232 for details. Junior matches start on Saturday 17th May.
Tuesday evening matches start on 17th June.
Sunday trophy matches start on 4th May at Cliviger fish ponds with matches alternating between Cliviger, Portsmouth Res,and Grove Lodge. Draw upto 8:00 am. Fish 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. 100% payout, see members ticket for full details.

Members are reminded that day tickets are no longer available for the Rochdale canal anywhere. Day tickets are available for Grove Lodge, Cliviger Fish ponds, and Croft Head, but tickets must be purchased before entering any of our sites with fishing tackle otherwise double will be charged. Day tickets cost £4 senior and £2 junior.
Anglers must have a new 2003-2004 Environment Agency Rod Licence, which came into effect on 1st April, to fish any of our waters.
All waters are now starting fish well with the warm sunny weather, especially Cliviger, Grove, and Croft. The new stock fish are being caught 'one a chuck'.

The stock fish are not really feeding properly yet, sport has been slow, but most anglers are managing to catch something.

Cars have been shot at whilst parked on Croft Head car park, one had its windscreen smashed. Any infomation re culprit will attract a reward from this society.
