Most of our waters are now starting to fish well, with some really good catches recorded. Mixed bags of Perch,Tench, Carp, and Bream from Town House, Mixed bags from Croft, Cliviger,New Mill Dam, and Grove Lodge. One angler had 35lb of Carp at Croft, another had a Bream over 10lbs. Tonight Friday we have the first junior match, meet Library lenght of the Rochdale canal up to 5:45pm. Fish 6:15pm to 8:15 pm. £1 entry.

The newly opend Lower Town House fishery is fishing quite well considering
the Bream and Tench only went in on 1st April - opening day. Roach, Perch and
Carp have already been stocked by two members by breading fish using Croft as
source. We have now constructed a stock pond at Town House which will be used to
bread more fish for Town House.
Town House is members only. No day
tickets. No Keepnets.
Croft has started to fish well with plently of anglers giving it a try. Cliviger Fishponds has also started to fish. Ray had a 2lb Ide last week on the top pond.

Work will be carried out at Cliviger Fishponds during May/June this year. The silt trap below the bottom pond will be de-silted, the lower end of the spillway will be rebuilt, the dam wall will be pointed, and the pathways will be reconstructed and re-stoned.When the bottom pond works are complete the top pond will be tackled. The leak will hopefully be cured, thick plastic shuttering will be driven in all the way along the dam wall, to create a watertight barrier, the dam wall will be cemented up the silt trap desilted. A dipping pond will be created in the hillside, and the access roadway will be improved. The path across the roadside will also be re-stoned. Some disruption to fishing ie: water levels, is unavoidable but one pond will be full of water at all times.
Fish have been stocked into, Lower Town House,Croft Head, Crossleys ( Rochdale canal ), New Mill Dam (Folly) and Cliviger fishponds (1st April). Lower Town House is now open to members only for fishing with keepnets barred (except in matches).
Next members only club match is on Sunday 25th April. Draw Cliviger top pond up to 8:00 am. Fish 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. £5 entry, 100% payout. Ring Wilf on 017-7 872812 to book on.
Tuesday evening matches start on 15th June.

The last Sunday members trophy match was fished on Croft by 25 members in
very windy, and clod conditions. All caught somthing but weights were not
massive.
Result:
'Fish of the day' was Rudd which nobody caught so we have a triple rollover making the pot worth winning.

The last Sunday members only match was fished on the Summit section of the
Rochdale canal by 21 members, in quite reasonable weather.

The last Sunday open match was fished on the Summit section of the Rochdale
canal by 26 entrants on what was a very windy day.

The next members only club trophy match is this Sunday 4th April at Croft Head Fishery. Draw at the car park up to 8:00 am. Fish 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. £5 with 100% payout. 50p per peg goes to the 'fish of the day'.
Yesterday 1st April saw the re-opening of Town House Fishery to MEMBERS ONLY. Keepnets barred except in club matches.
