Juniors

The junior open match at Queen St Mill, Harle Syke, Burnley, takes place on Saturday 24th June - Draw on bank up to 9:00am fish 10:00am to 2:00 pm. Ticket only. Tickets are now available at £5 each from Bill Cox. 456 Brunshaw Rd, Burnley BB10 3HX. Tel: 01282 434786. There will be two sections, under 13 on day of match, and under 17 on day of match. There will be prizes and trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each section. Prizes/trophies will be presented in the mill at 3:00pm by Peter Pike M.P. for Burnley. Entry fee includes pie & peas in the mill after the match. Get your ticket now - strictly limited.
Queen St Mill is starting to fish and should be excellent by June.

T.A.S. junior matches start on the canal on 3rd June with matches on Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. Junior tutoring sessions are taking place on Saturday afternoons until further notice. Meet Todmorden tackle shop 1:00pm fish 1:30pm to 4:00pm.

Open Matches

Sunday 30th April see the last Sunday match on the Littleborough sections of the canal. The next match will be on Summit to Dead Lengths on 28th May. Ring Richard on 01706 290642 to book on. Draw York Hotel Todmorden up to 8:30am fish 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Tuesday League

This year all out Tuesday matches are 'opens' with 50 pegs available. the series starts on 23rd May and runs for eleven Tuesdays plus a final on 8th August.( top two qualifiers in each match).
Entry fee is £7 per match with £4.50 pool plus 50p peg fee plus £1 bonus ball plus £1 towards final. Bonus ball started with £50 from T.A.S.
T.A.S. will increase prize money for final by £200.

The Tuesday League

The newly revamped Tuesday league starts on Tuesday 23rd May - Draw Lanebottom up to 5:45 pm fish 6:15pm to 9:30 pm. Top two anglers in each match qualify for grand final on 8th August on Lanebottom. There are eleven matches plus the final, and are all open matches. Entry £7 per match with 50p peg fee £4.50 pool, £1 'bonus ball', and £1 to grand final 'pot'. The club will start off the bonus ball with £50 and add £200 to the prize money for the final.

Matches

The next open match is Sunday 30th April at Littleborough, draw Sun Hotel up to 8:30am fish 10:00am to 3:00pm. £12 all in ring 01706 650954 to book on.
The junior open match at Queen St Mill lodge will be on Saturday 24th June draw up to 9:00am fish 10:00am to 2:00pm. Tickets will be £5 ith food included - in the mill after the match. Sponsorship for prizes/trophies is coming in and there will be two sections U17 and U13 with prizes/trophies for 1st,2nd,3rd in each section. Tickets available mid May. Tickets for the members only matches at Kings Pool, Cannock on Sundays 9th & 30h July are now available.

Stocking

Last Monday saw the final fish delivery with 120 Tench to Portsmouth res,200 Tench to Cliviger ponds, and 100 Tench to Queen St Mill. These fish were 6"-8", 8"-10", and 10"+.

Form

T.A.S. waters are starting to fish with Grove lodge at Littleborough the best 'early starter' - Tench Bream, and Roach are being caught with catches to 25lb. Cliviger top pond has started to fish well for Tench and Bream, and the bottom pond for Chub and Golden Orfe. Catches to 20lb at the moment. QueenSt Mill Good some days, but sometimes not a bite, odd Bream and Tench, but mainly Ide and Roach.

Sunday 9th April sees an open match on the Rochdale canal al Littleborough (Smithy Bridge). Draw Sun Hotel upto 8:30 Fish 10am to 3pm, £12 'all in' ring 01706 650954 to book on. Sunday 30th April as above Then revert to Todmorden sections.

A large delivery of stock fish arrived last week with fish stocked as follows:-

Queen St Mill  - Ide, Roach, Tench, Carp .
Grove Lodge  - Tench
Croft & Town House - Roach & Carp
Portsmouth Reservoir - Ide, Roach, Carp
New Mill Dam (folly)  - Ide
Walsden Printing Co Lodges - Ide
Canal ( square pool , nehesco & cross keys sections) - Ide

The Ide were 4-6", the tench were 6-8", the carp were 4-6", the roach 8". Tench will arrive soon for Walsden Printing Co,  Cliviger, & Portsmouth Res.

Queen St Mill at Harle Syke opens to members for fishing today. A maximun of 6 anglers at a time, juniors MUST be accompanied at all times.
