on Wednesday 2nd January 2002 at 8:30 pm after the committee meeting - All members welcome

The Grand Xmas match proved very hard going indeed after a hard frost dropped the temperatures to -3°C at the start of the match. The weather started fine and sunny but after about an hour the fog rolled in makinh it feel even colder. The juniors fished on the Lancs side at Sladen Wood with 7 out of 14 catching something.

Everybody enjoyed the day - in spite of the very cold weather, and Pockets Leisure Club provided good facilities and food. All junior trophies and match prizes were presented then senior prizes plus a raffle.

There will be an extraordinary general meeting on Wednesday 2nd January 2002 at Pockets at 8:30 pm after the 7:30 pm committee meeting, to discuss the rule about committee/officials having to reside in Todmorden.

Membership cards for next year are now in all our usual outlets, same price as last year.

This coming Sunday 9th December 2001 is the Todmorden Angling Society Grand Xmas Match and trophy presentation for senior and junior members only. 

The draw is at Pockets Leisure Centre up to 9:00 am with fishing from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm  Tickets are £8 senior (inc pool) £4 junior. Ticket price include pie chips and peas .After the match back at Pockets we will enjoy lunch and about 3:00pm the junior trophies for 2001 will be presented, at about 3:30 the match prizes will be presented to all competitors. Lets see a good turn out. Ticket only. Tickets can be bought from Macks Burnley,Fish a 'mania Sowerby Bridge,Tight Lines Shaw, or Rochdale Angling.

Day tickets are £3 senior £1.50 Junior, and must be purchased in advance.

Groundbaiting with boilies is now banned on all our waters.

Entry fee for junior matches is now £1.
