The open match on Feb 6th was an excellent match with an above average winning winter weight, and also a new match caught record perch. The weather was fine and mild for February, but only 28 bothered to turn up to fish 'wooden bridge' and 'lorry park' sections of the Rochdale canal at Littleborough.
Most of the competitors caught specimen perch and tench on caster and bread, punch being used to catch small 'bit' roach.

Result:
    1.Gary Jones (Burnley)                                     4kg 250gm        2 tench & 2 perch
    2.Chris Oliver (Rochdale Angling Centre)         2kg 770gm         2 tench & 1 perch ( perch record  2lb 10 1/4 oz )
    3.Gary Smith (Todmorden)                              2kg 640gm        roach/perch
    4.David Rowe (Alderson GTI)                         2kg 310gm        roach/perch.
    5.S.Wlaton (Todmorden)                                 1kg 720gm        1 tench & 'bits'
