By today Friday 31st January 2003 all seniors who wish to jion T.A.S. without paying the £10 entry fee mush have done so.

Last Saturday's open match was fished a Firgrove (Rochdale) by 23 anglers in wet gale lashed conditions making fishing extremely difficult indeed. All fish caught were Roach in the 1-4oz range. Bait was caster.

The first open match of 2003 was drawn at McDonalds  Kingsway, Rochdale. The match was fished by 15 anglers at Castleton ( behind Arrow Mill), and all caught fish despite all entrants having to clear swims in the thick ice.

Next Friday is the last day for renewal of T.A.S. subs at £30. Any senior wishing to join or renew after that date will have to pay £40. Subs of £30 + Entry fee of £10 = £40. New seniors may also join up to Friday 31st January without paying the entry fee.

The Society needs to run some Pike matches - any volunteers?

Will members please note that we are asking for an optional additional £5 this year to spend on extra stock fish during next winter, all members who contribute will be entered into a free raffle at next years xmas match for valuable prizes. We hope everybody will contribute otherwise the money raised will not help a lot.

Anybody wishing to fish T.A.S. waters should by now have bought the new membership card at £30 for seniors. After 31/01/2003 there ia an additional charge of £10. See subs for more details.

British Waterways Board will be working on lock gates and paddles at locks on the Rochdale canal between Crossley's (lock25) and Square Pool (lock 30). This work started on 6th January and will continue into February. Will members out fishing or who live in the Shade to Walsden area keep an eye on this work. If you see any lengths drained or dead fish please take photos and report to B.W.B. and this society.

Subs for 2003 should now have been paid, remember you have to buy your membership ticket before 31/01/03 to avoid paying the £10 entry fee.

Subs year runs from 01/01/03 to 31/12/03 so for a full years fishing these prices are very reasonable ( 60p per week without entry fee, 77p per week with entry fee), we still have 10 still waters and 13.5 miles of canal fishing ( exclusive to members ). Day tickets are available for Cliviger fish ponds, Croft Head, and Grove lodge at £4 senior £2 junior.

There is an additional optional charge of £5 this year we are asking members to contribute an additional £5 this year with all proceeds going to the purchase of additional stock fish for our waters next winter. All members who pay this £5 will be entered into a free draw to be drawn at next years xmas match, for a really good prize.
