The last Sunday open was a good match ( switched to Summit Length ) and was fished by 32 entrants.

Next Tuesday 22nd July We have an evening match on Nehesco - Copperashouse sections of the Rochdale canal. Draw up to 5:45 pm at Pockets car park. Fish 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm. £7 'all in' inc 50p peg fee.

Next junior match is on Friday 25th July. Draw Tench Length up to 6:00 pm. Fish 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm. £1 entry.

The last trophy match at Portsmouth res was a dour affair all but one fish caught being Perch .

Plenty of carp to 15lb being caught on most of our waters with large bream to 6lb from Croft and Portsmouth. Small carp, tench, orfe and ides continue to provide good sport at Cliviger. Fantastic mixed bags at Grove, Queens street mill and New Mill Dam.

Membership of T.A.S. is still open from local tackle shops at £40 senior (inc. £10 entry fee - payable once only providing subs paid by 31st Jan. each year) Lady, O.A.P. (over 65 yrs) and disabled £15 p.a only - disabled only available by post. Junior (birth to 16th birthday) - £5 p.a only

Last Saturdays junior match was fished on short length by only 4 juniors. Mostly f1 carp were caught giving very good weights.

The first Tuesday evening match was fished at Smithybridge (Wooden Bridge) by 15 members. Tench were caught by most competitors, as the Roach were not feeding owing to spawing.
