11th June
The open match fished on the Rochdale canal at Todmorden was still affected by the previous weekends floodwater. The canal water is still cold for the time of year. Warland, Lanebottom. & Sandersons sections were fished by 27 anglers in quite windy, but dry conditions.

The two 'away' matches at Kings Pools at Cannock take place on 9th & 30th July, and they are NOT by coach. Get your tickets now for Macks Burnley or Rochdale Angling Centre. Only £5/peg. You will be given directions on how to get there, bait bans, fishing times etc at the time of booking. 

Juniors

Tomorrow Saturday 24th June is the grand junior open match at Queen St Mill, Harle Syke, Burnley. This match is ticket only at £5/peg and is for juniors under 17yrs on the day of match. There will be two sections (U13 & U17) with prizesand trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd (maybe 4th) in each section. There may be a couple of pegs available if you want to fish ring Billy Cox on 01282 434786. Ticket price includes pie & peas after the matchin the mill. Peter Pike M.P. for Burnley will present the prizes at 3:00pm in the mill.
This comming Wednesday 28th June the juniors have a match on the Tench length, meet Tench length up to 6:00pm fish 6:45pm to 8:45pm.
Junior tutoring sessions have now been changed to Sundays. Meet Salford Industrial Estate at 1:00pm fish 1:30pm to 4:00pm. for further details ring Denis Dolan on 01706 817232.

4th June
The Pond Trophy match was fished at Cliviger Top Pond by 8 members. Conditions were cool dr and quite still. Good considering there had been floods overnight. Water was pouring through the ponds with the water a muddy brown colour. It was worm or corn for big fish since no 'bits' seemed to want to know.

Away Match

The away matches at Kings Pool Cannock are on Sunday 9th & 30th July. There is a trophy for the junior and senior winners. Travel by car. Get a lift in necessary but £5/peg secures your spot on the bank. Advance booking essentialfrom Macks Burnly or Rochdale angling Centre. We have the contest pool booked which has 40 pegs - plenty of room for everybody.

The next junior match is tomorrow (Sat) on Victoria Terrace. Draw match length upto 1:30 pm fish 2:30pm 5:00pm. There is also a junior match on Wednesday21st June on Nehesco. Draw upto 6:00pm fish 6:45pm to 8:45pm. 50p entry.
The match at Queen St mill is on Saturday 24th June. Draw at the mill upto 9:00am, fish 10:00am to 2:00pm. The first summer open match on the Rochdale canal was fished on White House, Sandersons, Lanebottom, Warland, Birdi`th hand, and Summit sections by 37 anglers in dry but very blustery conditions - making bait presentation quite difficult, weights were quite respectable however, with Todmordens Richard Winterbottom landing three carp and a tench for almost 19lb from Whitehouse length.

The new water at Queen St Mill Harle Syke in now open to members only, but no juniors allowed unaccompanied, and a maximum of 6 anglers at once. NO keepnets this year (all new stock fish) This water will be closed to anglers from Saturday 16th June until after the special junior open match on June 24th.

Juniors

The special 'one off' junior open match on Saturday 24th June is for juniors 16 and under. There will be two age groups (under 13 & under 17) with prizes and trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd in each age group. The Saturday tutoring sessions for juniors continue, meet Todmorden tackle shop at 1:00pm fish 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
