Night matches are obviously not what memebers want - only 2 turned up to fish on a fine dry night. The winer was Wilf Doyle of Bacup with 10lb 1oz(2 carp, 1 bream, 1 tench, 1 roach). Peg 403 on Lanebottom was fished by Wilf. Last Tuesday's match result was a good, even match for the 15 entrants.
Result
Derdale - Gasworks fished next Tuesday (3rd July). The draw is at Lanebottom at 5.45 pm fish 6.15 pm to 9.30 pm. These are open matches £7 'all in' members , £8 non-members.
Next open match on a Sunday is also on the top end of the the Rochdale Canal (Summit- Nehesco ) on Sunday 8th July. Draw York Hotel up to 8.30 am fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm £12 all in!
The next junior matches are on Wednesday (4th July - Warland/Longlees), (18th July - Queens St Mill), (25th July Sandholme) draw on each site up to 6:00 pm fish 6.45 pm -8.45pm . Junior members only, 50p only.
Non-members wishing to fish our day ticket waters are reminded that day ticket anglers may not use keep nets and can only use 1 rod at once.
It has been reported that non-members are fishing without a day ticket - you must buy your ticket prior to entering any of our sites with fishing tackle otherwise double will be charged on the bank (£3 advance, £6 on bank senior) £1.50 and £3 junior
If anglers do not start 'playing the game' and playing for their fishing, day tickets will be stopped forever.
The only waters fishable on a day ticket currently are Cliviger fishponds, Grove lodge, and Summit to Castleton regions of Rochdale canal.
All waters are open to members except Whiteley Knowl and Lower Town House.

Last Sundays open match on the Derdale-Finney`s sections of the Rochdale canal was a low weight affair the bigger bream didn`t want to know, and most anglers caught skimmers.

Next Tuesdays open match is drawn at Dale St car park Todmorden up to 5:45pm fish 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm. £7 members £8 non-members 'all in' fish Derdale to gasworks sections of the Rochdale canal.
The juniors have a match next Wednesday 27th June on sewage works sectoins of the Rochdale canal, draw Sewage works up to 6:00 pm fish 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm. 50p members only
There in no committee meeting in July, the next committee meeting is on Wednesday 1st August at the Hollins Inn Walsden at 7:30 pm, followed by 29th August (September meeting brought forward by a week).

Wednesday 20th June we have a junior match draw Bar St (Tench length) up to 6:00pm fish 6:45pm to 8:45pm 50p members only. Juniors also have matches on Wednesdays 27th June, 4th,18th,25th July, matches then revert back to Saturday afternoons.

The club match on Cliviger top pond on bank holiday Monday was fished in cool windy weather which put the fish off a bit. Only 7 turned up to fish this match.
Result
Both ponds have been fishing well during the warmer weather with 20-30 lb catches quite common. No Carp to be kept in keepnets at this water. Day tickets are available at £3 senior £1.50 junior, BUT tickets MUST be bought in advance of entering the site otherwise double will be charged. Cliviger top pond may be booked in advance for matches at £3 per peg max 20 pegs.
Croft Head is now open to members only, access via gate on Calderbrook Rd, fish pegs 11 -18 only. No fishing before 8:00 am. Good catches of small fish plus up to 20lb of Carp, Bream and tench typical of catches on opening day.
Portsmouth Res is now open to members only with cars parked on car park and away from stile at end of cul-de-sac. Strickly no entry into any fields surounding or adjacent to any of our waters.
Next Tuesdays match is fished on Derdale - Gasworks draw Dale St car park up to 5:45 pm fish 6:15 to 9:30 pm.
Next Friday (15th June) we have a night match on Lanebottom section of the Rochdale canal. Draw upto 8:30 pm fish 9:00 pm to 6:00 am. £5 all in members only.
The most recent open match was fished on bank holiday Sunday by 32 anglers, low pressure coupled with rain kept weights down.

With warmer weather all waters have started to fish well with Tench feeding ravenously ( catch of 12 recorded at Cliviger top pond). Carp have also been feeding, with catches of upto 20 on Cliviger top pond ( ½lb - 2lb )stock fish. Golden Orfe also showing at Cliviger, along with a few Bream to 4lb plus lots of Trout, Perch and Gudgeon. Grove lodge and Walsden Print Co lodges good for Skimmers and Tench, with New Mill Dam good for Roach, Carp and Bream.Rochdale canal (members onlt sections) fishing well for Bream and Carp with Bream bags to 50lb and Carp bags to 70lb.
Last Friday saw the opening of Croft Head to members only ( pegs 11-18 only) no fishing before 8:am. Access through gate on Calderbrook road, with parking on Calderbrook road. Early reports are that it is 'fishing its head off'.
Today sees the opening of Portsmouth Res fot fishingby members only- access only by way of stile at end of cul-de-sac with cars parked on road side of railway bridge. Strictly no access to any fields in the vicinity of any of our waters! Penalty expulsion!
