The stock fish were delivered two weeks ago. They were all good fish and were
stocked as follows:

The following Sunday de-Piking was carried out on the Short Length, Library, and Sandholme sections of the Rochdale canal. Approx 22 Pike were removed for about 100lb. We hope to restock Library lenght soon.
Next open match will be on 13th April on Summit - Nehesco sections of the Rochdale canal. Draw 8:30 am. Fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. £12 all in.

The last Saturday open match was close even though weights were not particularly good for a 5 hour event.
Result:
The recent thaw should improve fishing generally. Please note matches now revert back to Sundays. Next match Sunday 13th April Summit to Nehesco sections of the Rochdale canal. Draw upto 8:30 am. Fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Ring 01706 290642 or 01706 650954 to book on.
Local anglers please note, the Rochdale canal is strictly Private Fishing.

No day tickets.
Membership will be kept open
all year, so anybody wishing to fish the canal can join. Bailiffs will be out
and anybody caught poaching will be prosecuted.

This coming Sunday 16th March this society and B.W.B. will carry out de-pikeing of the canal in the vicinity of Todmorden town centre, ready for restocking with coarse fish.
Croft Head Res has had a wide new pathwat created along Calderbrook Rd side of the water ( you can now easily walk all the way round ), the silt-trap has been de-silted, and the stream down from Croft to Town House has been cleared of weeds and silt, which along with manure has been places between platforms at Town House. The islands at Town House have been improved and large amounts of planting will be carried out on the islands, and in between platforms. Shrubs will be planted on the islands, water lilies (large leaved) plus iris will be planted round the islands and between the platforms. Town House will then be refilled with water and left until the winter when stocking will take place.

The Chatsworth Angling Fair will take place at Chatsworth Estate on 17th and
18th May 8:00 am to 6:30 pm each day. The events will honour the National
Federation of Anglers, and The Salmon and Trout Assocation, both founded in
1903. Bob Nudd, Bob James,and Ian Heaps will be present, with Ian showing off
his fishing skills in the ajoining river Derwent.
Four juniors from PC Mick
Watsons 'Hooked On Fishing' scheme will be present to demonstrate and offer
advice. These four boys, Wayne Collins, Jon Spilsby, Josh Blythe and Phil
Farley have introduced over 1000 other young people to our sport.
There will
be displays of Surf Casting, Fish Cooking, and Chris Sandford will be there with
his vintage tackle roadshow, visitors can also bring old items of tackle for
Chris to put a value on.

Saturdays matc ended up being a 'knock up' and nobody caught.
We urgently need somebody to organise a series of Pike matches on the canal, any volounteers
