The Tuesday league started at Littleborough with a match on Akzo length.

The second Tuesday match was fished on Derdale Basin at Todmorden.

Next Tuesday`s match is to be at Littleborough. Draw Lorry Park, Smithybridge up to 5:45 pm. Fish 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm. £7 all in.

The juniors have a match at New Mill Dam (folly) tomorrow Saturday 1st June. draw at dam up to 1:15 pm.

There is a members only match at Cliviger Top Pond this Sunday May 26th. Draw at 8:00 am fish 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Last Sunday's match was fished in warm bright sunny weather. Which tends to put fish off feed a bit. Lots of small roach were caught with runner up having a tench plus roach - mostly on the punched bread.
36 fished the match along Akzo chemicals section.
The next open match will be fished on Derdale to sewage works sections of the Rochdale Canal on Sunday 26th May draw Dale Street car park up to 8:30 am fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm £12 'all in' ring 01706 290642 or 01706 650954 to book on. Next Tuesday's members only summer league evening match (28th May) will be fished at the 'top end' i.e Warland to Dead Length. Draw at Lanebottom up to 5:45 pm fish 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm. £7 'all in'. The junior matches start a week tomorrow (Saturday 1st June) with a match at New Mill Dam. £1 entry fee only. Draw at 1:15 pm fish 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm members only - draw on bank. The 'taster' session for juniors up to 16yrs is on 27th July (Saturday) and is for anybody under 16 who would like to try fishing (no license requires or tackle).
Juniors who want to 'improve' may also come along and be given individual tuition for at least 20 mins. If they bring their own tackle. There will be trade stands, free t-shirts and Mc Donalds drink vouchers and a good day is promised. There will be ten National Federation of Anglers coaches present to give all comers at least 20 mins tuition watch the local and national press. Membership of T.A.S is now open at £36 senior (inc £10 entry fee) or £13 OAP (over 65) Lady or wheelchair disabled. Juniors (under 16) pay £5 pa only. From local tackle shops.

The next committee meeting has been brought forward a week. The meeting will now take place at Pockets Leisure Club at 7:30 pm on Wednesday 29th May.

Most of our waters have now started to fish well with good catches reported fron Cliviger Fishponds, Grove Lodge, Croft Head, New Mill Dam (folly) , and various sections of the Rochdale canal. Queen St mill is also fishing well for Ide, Golden Rudd, Tench, Carp, and Gudgeon.
Day tickets are available for Grove Lodge, Croft Head, and Cliviger Fishponds only. Tickets must be bought in advance, keepnets are not allowed, and only one rod is allowed on day tickets. Membership is still available see subs for more details.

Last Sunday's open match was fished on the Rochdale Canal at Todmorden by 21 Hardy Souls! The weather was wet, windy and wild in dramatic contrast to the recent warm/dry spell. Tackle control was difficult in the wind, but weights, in the circumstances were not bad at all. The winner had bream and skimmers above Rochdale Road bridge on Copperashouse with the runner-up putting a big perch plus 3 tench on the scales from Lacy Avenue section

Tuesday 14th May is the start date for the T.A.S summer individual league with the final on Tuesday 27th August matches are to be fished on the canal with entry set at £7/match payable at each match. This consists of 50p peg fee, £4.50 pool, £1 towards final and £1 'bonus ball'. Bonus ball will be drawn at each match if winner fishes bonus ball peg no. then pot taken. Members only. These matches are not 'opens' this year. Winner plus R.U from each match fish grand final on 27th August. There are matches at Cliviger top pond on Sunday 25th May (draw on bank at 8am), 28th July (draw on bank at 8am) and Saturday 17th August draw at 4pm-see card £5 with no peg fee.
We have a big junior event on the canal on Sat 27th July with all juniors wanting to learn to fish or improve fishing skills being given expert tuition by N.F.A. tutors: see press for full details - turn up on day.

These matchs are for members only with entry at £7 per match( £4.50 pool, 50p entry, £1 towards final, £1 to 'bonus ball'). Bonus ball will be drawn at each match if the winner fishes bonus ball peg then the pot is taken.

A big 'Fun Day' is organised for Saturday 27th July at Todmorden when angling coaches will be on hand to show yongsters how to fish, or how to catch more fish
Chatsworth Angling Fair takes place on the weekend of 18th/19th May at
Chatsworth House Estate near Bakewell in Derbyshire. There will be a new drive
to give young spectators a practical 'hands on' introduction to angling with
help from some of anglings big names.
There will be fly-tying demos, 3 young
Durham teenagers giving angling demos, surf casting demos, tackle bargains
(including Chris Sandford`s vintage tackle show), bring and buy tackle tent -
10% commission charged for selling your unwanted tackle, fish cooking demos.

(Carp), and Barry Richards (Pike).
Entry on
the day is £7 (children under 7 with adult free), with free car parking. You can
