The 'FUN DAY' on the Rochdale canal at Todmorden wil be held on Library
section on Sunday 10th August from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Any members of the
public (especially juniors) who has never held a fishing rod may turn up on the
day and try the sport of angling.There will be quite a few National Federation
of Anglers trainers present to show you how to fish. Tackle, bait, and all
licences provided - JUST TURN UP. Juniors wishing to improve their skills may
also come along and be coached to become a better angler. Come along to Salford
Industrial Estate, Rochdale Rd anytime between 10:00am and 4:00 pm. There is no
charge.
We also have junior coaching sessions most Sundays on the same
section, for our junior members. Meet 1:00 pm fish until 4:00 pm. Ring Dennis on

There is a junior match tomorrow Saturday 31st May on Derdale section of the Rochdale canal. Draw up to 1:15pm. Fish 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Entry £1. Members only.
The Library section of the Rochdale canal has recently been stocked with 5000 4"-6" F1 carp (Crucian/Common cross).
The next Sunday open match on the canal is next Sunday 8th June. Draw up to 8:30 am. Fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. £12 all in. Ring 01706 290642 or 01706 650954 to book on.
The next Club Championship Match is on Sunday 15th June at Cliviger Top Pond. Draw up to 8:00 am. Fish 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. £5 all in with 100% payout.
Members only Tuesday evening matches start on Tuesday 17th June at Smithybridge on the Rochdale canal. Draw Lorry Park up to 5:45 pm. Fish 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm. £7 all in witk £4.50 pool, 50p peg fee, £1 towards pot for final and £1 towards 'Bonus Ball'
The next committee meeting is at 7:30 pm at the Hollins Inn on Wednesday 4th June 2003. Please Note: There will be no meeting in July.

The second Sunday Pond Trophy match was fished by 11 members on Portsmouth Res. The weather was cool and cloudy, with heavy showers. The cool weather pu the fish off since only 4 caught, one fish each.

The species of the day was Perch ant the 'pot' was won by Match organiser Andrew Crossley.
The next match in this series will be fished on Cliviger Top Pond on Sunday 15th June. Draw upto 8:00 fish 8:30 to 1:00pm. £5 all in with 50p to 'Species of the day'.
Tuesday evening matches start on 17th June £7 all in.
Tomorrow Saturday 24th May we have a junior match on the Rochdale Canal at Shaw Wood. Draw upto 1:15 pm. Fish 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. £1 entry, Junior members only.
This Sunday 25th May we have an open match on the Rochdale canal on the Derdale to Sewage works sections. Draw Dale St car park up to 8:30 am. Fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. £12 all in. Ring 01706 290642 or 01706 650954 to book on.
Junior tutoring sessions take place on the canal on Sundays (Library section) Meet 1:00 pm fish until 4:00 pm. Ring Dennis for more details on 10706 817232. The Library section of the canal has been fishing really well lately with anglers catching up to 100 of the small carp recently introduced. Most of our other waters have also been fishing well as a result of fish introductions.

The first Sunday trophy match for members was fished on Cliviger Top Pond by 13 members. The fish were feeding, especially the recently introduced Mirror Carp & Tench, but bait presentation was made difficult by a strong wind.Result:

In addition to the above a section on the Rochdale canal which is used for junior coaching has been stocked with 5000 F1 carp (Crucian/Common hybrids).
Junior coaching takes place on Sunday afternoons. Meet Salford Industrial Estate at 1:00pm fish until 4:00 pm. There will be a junior 'taster day' on Library section of the Rochdale Canal in early August,when anybody interested in angling may turn up on the day, and have a try, tackle and bait will be provided, there will also be a chance of individual tution by a N.F.A. coach.
Junior members have their own series of matches starting on Saturday 17th May, entry £1 only. There are two age groups in these matches, U12 & U16. The junior champion is the junior with the most points from 11 of the 14 matches. Winners and runners up will be presentes with replicas at our Annual Presentation an 14th December.

This Sunday 4th May is the first match inthe re-introduced 'Sunday Tropy Match Series' . Entry fee ffor each match is £5 with 100% payout on the bank. Pay 1st, 2nd plus 3rd if more than 11 anglers fish. This series of matches will have a 'Species of the Day' which will be drawn before the match, 50p from each entry fee will go to the heaviest 'Species of the Day' . Trophy goes to winner of match which will be presented after the Xmas match. Draw at Cliviger Top Pond upto 8:00am fish 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. This match series is for members only, please bring your 2003 members ticket for checking.
Tuesday evening matches start on 17th June through to 25th August. This series is also for members only.
Junior matches start on Saturday 17th May. Draw on the bank upto 1:15 pm.
Fish 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tese matches are for T.A.S. junior members only, and
cost £1 to enter, with two age groups for trophies U12, and U16. Winner gets
trophy for 12 months, runners-up in each age group are given replicas to keep.
All presented at the Trophy Presentation after the Xmas match on 14th
December.
Junior membership is only £5 p.a. (under 16) and there is
NO excuse for any junior being caught fishing our waters
without a licence.
