Today is a very proud day for this society for Todmorden and also for fourof our junior members. Daniel Norcliffe, Daniel Goggs, Chris Few, and Scott Crossley - all of Todmorden are to be presented with their N.F.A. Kingfishers Award, for their angling achievements. i.e Successfully learning and improving their angling techniques with the help of our N.F.A. coach Dennis Dolan. The mayor and partner ( of Calderdale) will present the awards at Pete`s  Cyber Snack, Water St, Todmorden at approx 6:15pm tonight. These are the first awards of this kind in this area. Well done lads, thanks to Dennis, and keep it up.

Todmorden A.S. new H.Q. is now at Pockets Leisure Centre, Walsden. Next committee meeting 5th December at 7:30.

There will be no increase in subs this year, with senior renewals ( upto 31/01/2002) remaining at £26.Juniors ( upto 16 birthday) £5. Ladies, OAP`s( over 65) and wheelchair/limbless disabled remaining at £13. After 31st January 2002 seniors also pay a £10 entry fee. ( no entry fee for senior renewals or new members before this date).

Tickets for the Grand Xmas Match are now available at Rochdale Angling, Macks Burnley, Tight Lines Shaw, or Fisha'mania Sowerby Bridge at £8 senior £4 junior. Ticket includes pie, chips and peas back at pockets. Senior price also includes pool of £4. Members only. Advance ticket holders only. Draw at pockets upto 9:00am fish 10:00 am to 1:00pm, food available at draw. After the match the junior trophies will be presented, after that the match prizes - one for all entrants.

No day tickets are now available on the Rochdale canal anywhere.

The A.G.M. was held last Wednesday at the White Hart Hotel Todmorden. Most of the officers and committee/bailiffs agreed to continue but we have a problem with rule 1 which calls for the majority of officers/committee to be residents of Todmorden. There will be an extraordanary  A.G.M. to discuss this matter and possibly change this rule at Pockets Walsden on Wednesday 2nd January 2002 at 8:30. Members welcome.

Rule changes agreed at A.G.M. were as follows:

1) Groundbaiting with boilies now banned on all our waters.
2) Day tickets not sold for canal anymore. Canal now members only.
3)Junior peg fee for matches now £1 per match.

All meetings W.E.F. 05/12/01 will now be held at Pocket Leisure Club Walsden.

The Grand Xmas Match will now be drawn a Pockets and the presentation etc will also be at Pockets. Tickets now on sale from tackle shops, at £8 seniors including pool plus pie, chips, and peas, £4 junior including food. All entrants will receive a prize and juniors will have their own section to fish.

Working parties are scheduled at Cliviger on 17th 24th and 31st March at 9:00am to clear weeds.

Next week on Wednesday 14th November we hold our Annual General Meeting for members only. Start 7:30 pm prompt at the White Hart Hotel (NOT HOLLINS as advertised in rule book).

All officers committee and baliffs are up for re-election so if you wish to get involved please come along and offer your services.

Proposals for discussion include:
        banning groundbaiting with boilies,
        increasing junior match fees to £1 per match,
         abolishing day tickets on the Lancashire sections of the Rochdale canal.

Come along, have your say, and use your vote. You MUST bring your membership card.

There are no proposals to increase subs.

The Grand Xmas Match is on Sunday 9th December. Draw White Hart Hotel Todmorden up to 9:00 am. Fish 10:00 am to 1:00 pm £8 senior (inc pool) £4 junior. Ticket price includes pie,chips & peas back at the 'pub'  prior to the junior trophy presentations, and prize presentation. All competitors will receive a prize. Tickets now available at tackle shops.

The annual meeting of matchmen takes place next Wednesday 7th November at 8:30 pm at the White Hart Hotel in Todmorden following the committee meeting at 7:30 pm.

The A.G.M. of members is is the following week 14th November also at the White Hart Hotel at 7:30 pm.
Please bring proof of membership to the A.G.M. Officers committee and bailiffs will be voted into office for next year and proposals will also be voted on for rule changes. Please note change of H.Q. owing to Hollins Inn being closed for referbishment.
