The junior open match at Queens Street Mill  was fished by 12 competitors altogether with 6 catching fish on what proved to be a very wet day. Continous rain spoiled the match and the fish didn`t exactly go mad owing to all the cold water entering the lodge. Thanks to Peter Pike M.P. for Burnley for coming along to present the prizes

The Annual General Meeting will take place at the Hollins Inn, Walsden o Wednesday 8th November at 7:30pm prompt. Proposals to be voted on include raising senior subs by £1 with juniors, ladies , and O.A.P.s and wheelchair disabled paying 50p more. There is also a proposal to waive the entry fee for seniors until 31st January. Lets see a good attendence. All officers are up for election!
The annual christmas match is on Sunday 17th December with a special section for juniors. Tickets soon.

The Annual General Meeting for members will take place on Wednesday 8th November at The Hollins Inn, Walsden ,Todmorden at 7:30 pm prompt. It is now too late to put forward proposals for debate, but please come along and vote.

The meeting of matchmen will take place on 1st November at the same venue at 9:00pm after the committe meeting. All trophies must be handed in by the A.G.M. or at the A.G.M. otherwise a £10 fine is payable.

Bailiffs are urgently required to cover all T.A.S. waters, but especially the Rochdale canal from Summit through Littleborough and Rochdale to Castleton. Interested? Ring 01282 702344

Queen Street Mill Junior Open Match Tomorrow.
Saturday 7th October is the junior open match at Queen Street Mill Harle Syke Burnley in support of the Mersey Basin Trust`s special weekend of events. Sponsored by the Trust. Want a ticket ring 01282 434786 NOW. Entry fee £5 but there are prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in each of two age groups( U13 & U17). There are also tropies for top three in each section. The draw for pegs is upto 8:30 am on the bank at the mill with fishing from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Prizes will be presented by Peter Pike M.P. for Burnley at 2:00 pm. The mill may be open for the end of the match and a free look around may be a possibility.

The Todmorden Angling Society Annual General Meeting takes place at the Hollins Inn Walsden Todmorden on Wednesday 8th November at 7:30 pm prompt. Proposals for changes to rules or match rules must be given to Ray Barber in writing and seconded by another member by 8th October at the latest. Both proposer and seconder must attend the A.G.M. to speak briefly in support of their proposal. The annual match meeting is on Wednesday 1st November at the Hollins Inn at 9:00 pm. All main trophies must be returned prior to or at A.G.M. otherwise a £10 fine is payable.

The Pennine Winter League has now started and runs right through October and November.

The last open match was fished in terrible conditions with persistent rain causing discomfort to the 31 entrants. Pike caused a lot of problems on a couple of the sections fished

Cliviger fish ponds has been fishing well for 'bits' Roach Perch, Gudgeon, and small Tench, with the odd Golden Orfe to 3½ lbs being caught on worm.
Grove lodge good for 'bits' Crucians and Tench
Walsden Printing Company Lodges for Bream, good Roach, odd Carp and Chub.
Rochdale Canal exellent catches of Carp to 15lb, also Chub to 5lb.
