Next Wednesday 5th November is the last commette meeting of the current commette and officials before the A.G.M. on 12th November. Both meetings commence at 7:00 pm, and are members only. Several interesting proposals are up for discussion/voting on, including the creation of an intermedate section for 16/17 year olds. All the commette/officials are up for election at the A.G.M. - so come along and offer your services
The GRAND XMAS MATCH will take place on Sunday 14th December. Draw at Hollins Inn, Walsden up to 9:00 am. Fish 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. £10 senior all in. £5 junior ( no pool ), both ticket prices include PIE,CHIPS,& PEAS back at the pub. Juniors will fish a seperate match, and come back to the pub where the prizes, and junior/senior trophies will be presented to all the winners. This match is all ticket, and members only. Tickets are now available from, 'SHY BITES' on Todmorden market, Friday,Saturday and Sunday, Macks Burnley, Fish a 'mania Sowerby Bridge, Rochdale Angling, and Tight Lines, Shaw.
Last Saturdays Pennine League practice match was fished on Station House /
Sewage Works sections of the Rochdale canal by 27 anglers.

This coming Sunday 26th October see the Pennine Winter League, which has 14 teams of 6 anglers fishing on local canals in Yorkshire & Lancashire, fishing on the Rochdale canal at Todmorden. No fishing match lengths on the same day of the match.
The annual Xmas match will be fished on the Rochdale canal ( Summit down to Nehesco sections ) on Sunday 14th December. Draw up to 9:00 am at the Hollins Inn, Walsden. Fish 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Members only. Ticket only. Tickets are now on sale at our usual outlets at £10 seniors & £5 juniors, this includes pie, chips & peas in the pub after the match, senior entry also includes £5 pool. Every entrant will receive a prize. Juniors fish their own separate match and join back with the seniors back at the Hollins for lunch and trophy and prize presentation.
Subs for 2004 will remain unchanged, except there is a proposal on the A.G.M. agenda to introduce a new category of membership for 16/17 year olds at £15 - Interested? come along and vote.
A proposal has been tabled for the A.G.M. to ban keepnets for pleasure fishing January to May inclusive.
The A.G.M. will be held at the Hollins Inn, Walsden , on Wednesday 12th November at 7:30 pm prompt. Members only.
The match meeting will be held on 5th November also at the Hollins Inn.
Membership cards for 2004 will be in our usual outlets by the end of the first week in December, but any senior wishing to buy a 5 year membership should send a cheque for £150 to the ticket secretary with a S.A.E before 31/01/2004. New cards will be sent out each year.

The last open match of this year is fished tomorrow (Saturday 18 October ). Draw up to 8:30 am. Fish 10:00 am to 3:00 pm £12 all in. Rochdale canal ibrary section down. Ring 01706 650954 or 01706 290642 to book on.
Wh have tried to sort out the leak on the dam wall at Cliviger top pond, with only limited/partial success. The water level has stopped falling and once the pond has filled up it should remain full until next summer, when the job will be finished.
'Walsden Printing Co Fishery' has been renamed 'Ramsden Wood Fishery' now that the printong mill has been demolished, the small lodge has now been filled in, hopefully to provide car parking, and the big lodge is now refilling (refilled) .
Lower Town House has been re-profiled, manure and silt spread between the platforms, water lillies planted, and the islands have been planted with shrubs. The water will re-open to members only next year, with a keepnet ban except in matches.
Membership for next year will remain unchanged as follows:

| Lady, O.A.P. ( over 65) | £15 |
| Disabled (with DBD384) | £15 |
There is a 5 year membership available at £150, for 2004 to 2008 inclusive which is available before 31-01-04 from the ticket secretary, this would ensure you would not have to pay the entry fee for 5 years and would 'inflation proof' you against future rises in subscriptions. Anymember taking this very special membership will have a new membership card sent through the post each December.
Stock fish are on order for most of our waters.
Some Pike will be removed from some sections of the Rochdale canal during the coming winter.

All proposals for the A.G.M should now have been received by the secretary in writing and properley seconded by another T.A.S. member. All proposals will be discussed and voted on at the A.G.M. on Wednesday 12th November at the Hollins Inn, Walsden at 7:30 pm. All proposers and seconders MUST attend the A.G.M. which is for 2003 members only.
The match meeting os on Wednes day 5th November at 9:00 pm, but match progeammes should be made available proir to 5th November if possible.

Anyone wanting to take advantage of the 5 year offer please send a cheque for £150 to the Ticket Secretary before 31/12/2003 This covers 2004-2008 inc new cards will be posted to you each of the 5 years covered by the membership.
Proposals for the A.G.M. should have been received by the secretary by next week (october 12th) all proposals should be in writing and be properly seconded by two membersof the soceity (proposer & seconder). The A.G.M. is at the Hollins Inn, Walsden Todmorden at 7:30 pm on Wednesday 12th November with all members welcome.
The final club match of the season will take place on Sunday 14th December. Summit section downwards and is 'The Grand Xmas Match'. Members only. Ticket only. £10 senior (inc pie chips & peas and £5 pool) £5 juniors ( excludes pool ). This match is the culmination of the season and there will be a prize for all commers, and a seperate section for the juniors. All senior and junior trophies will be presented back at the Hollins Inn after the match and food. Lets have a good turn out this year.
