If you look elsewhere on this forum you will see there has been a fish kill on Croft caused by deoxygenation when the ice was on the lake for around 5 weeks.Lots of fisheries have suffered. Thanks for telling us about these new dead fish-they need removing a.s.ap.

The Carp are still coming up dead and it has been decided not to restock until the E.A. give the 'all clear' and come up with the reason why these fish have died.
A thought-has any farmer been muck spreading on any fields which run off water goes into Clough Brook?

Hi Ray
Have we had any notification why the carp on Croft are having problems. Have you got a rough estimate as to how many fish have been lost
You say fish are still dying...????????

No idea how many fish lost. The Littleborough committee members have been removing them once they are dead.Mostly large fish though. The E.A. think it is a lack of oxygen problem owing to icing over.

HI POLECRUNCHER i have just today received an e mail off the E A they have took some water samples, but the results take upto 2 weeks to come back. They have advised us to get 4 bales of barley straw, break it down into nets and submerge under water, once its rotting it will soak the algi up.Thats the latest on the croft, but one or two high points is that the fish are starting to feed.
