The Cross Keys trophy match was fished on the Rochdale canal by only 12 anglers. The match caught carp record was broken by Steve Buckley with a common of 13lb 2oz, and the winner broke the 4 hour canal match record with 11kg 640gm = 25lb 10oz of carp.
Result
There are no matches at Todmorden during October and November owing to the re-arranged winter league now running every Sunday in October and November.
The society`s Annual General Meeting will be held at the Hollins Inn in Walsden on Wednesday 8th November at 7:30 pm members are encouraged to attend. Proposals for rule changes (including match rules) to be in writing and seconded by another member by 8th October at latest.
All trophies MUST be handed in prior to or at the A.G.M. or a £10 fine applies.
Queen St Mill lodge at Harle Syke is fishing well for small carp , tench and roach. Members are reminded that keep nets are not allowed on this water and no litter may be left.
The junior open in support of The Mersey Basin Trust`s Special Weekend of events is on Saturday 7th October. Draw on site up to 8:30 am fish 1:30 am to 1:30 pm. Prizes for top four ineach of two age groups (U13 & U17). Trophies for top three in each age group. Tickets limited at £5 each. Ring 01282 434786.

Junior matches at Todmorden are now completed for this year with only one match left to fish ( Xmas match on 17th December which does not count for championship). The under 16 champion for the millennium is Michael Whittle with runner up Paul Cox. The under 13 champion is Craig Taylor with runner up Ben Cox. For further details see table
Throphies / replicas can be collected after the xmas match on 17th December. All main trophies must be handed in by the A.G.M. on 8th November at the latest otherwise a £10 fine will be charged.

The club match fished on the Rochdale can at Todmorden (Nehesco section) was a good match, but only 7 turned out to fish

The Todmorden Angling Society A.G.M. will be held at the Hollins Inn, Walsden on Wednesday 8th November at 7:30 pm prompt. Any member wishing to make a proposal for a rule change or match rule change must submit their proposal to Ray Barber in writing (seconded by another member) by 8th October at the latest, and you must also turn up at teh A.G.M. to speak briefly on the proposal.
The meeting of the matchmen (decides venues etc for next years matches) is after the committee meeting on 1st November at 9:00 pm

N.F.A. Coaches.
Todmorden Angling Soceity now has an official N.F.A. sponsored and trained angling coach. Dennis Dolan recently passed the N.F.A. examination and successfully completed the N.F.A coaching course, and is now our ( and the N.F.A.`s) coach. Ring Dennis on 01706 817232 for details of sessions.

Matches.
Last Sundays open match was fished on the Rochdale canal ( Warland , Lanebottom, Sandersons , White House, and Dead Lengths) by 36 anglers in mainly dry, fine conditions. The big carp fed ravenously, with quite a lot lost with anglers fishing too light.

section of the Rochdale canal at Todmorden, draw Woodhouse bridge up to 1:30 pm.
Fish 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm entry 50p only.
There is a special one-of junior
match to celebrate the Mersey Basin Trust special events weekend, on Saturday
7th October at Queen St Mill, Harle Syke, Burnley. Draw at the mill upto 8:30
am, fish 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, with prizes/ trophies presented at 2:00 pm. Tickets

crossley`s ) £5 all in members only.
